Kids Judo & Grappling
Drake Judo Club was founded in 2017 and swiftly became one of the leaders in providing Judo skills to players of all ages across Devon.
Over the last 8 years we have won British titles at every age bracket and had success at European and world level too. However, our heart remains in grassroots local Judo provided to you by excellent first-class coaches.
Today we are Drake Judo & Grappling as we have begun to slowly offer other grappling based arts including Brazilian Jujitsu, Wrestling and Submission Grappling.
We provide a safe, fun and professional atmosphere for our members to learn, build confidence, make life long friendships and develop skills.
We currently hold classes in Tavistock and Plymouth, if you need any further information then please don't hesitate to contact us.

Do you have a timetable?
Yes, it's right here on the homepage. We update it regularly.
CanI try a class before I sign up?
Yes, we offer a FREE trial evening including all classes and facilities - apply by contacting us.
Do you do Adult classes?
Yes, for the beginner we offer classes on a Friday evening, for the more advanced we have a good relationship with another club close by which specialises in senior high grade Judo.
Do I have to compete?
Drake is a competition club, meaning we try and normalise competition from day one. However, should competition not be your thing we will support you fully on your journey, hopefully to black belt!
What are your prices?
£25 per month for full membership, giving you access to all classes. If you prefer to pay by session it's £7 a session.
Can I do 'pay as you go'?
Yes, you can train at a cost of £7 per session
Do I need any equipment?
No, not initially - whilst on free trial we can provide all equipment. After that time we advise you get your own equipment including a Judo licence which covers insurance. We can provide everything physical from Judo suits to T-shirts at subsidised prices.
